Connect a Discord webhook

A webhook is a URL Discord gives you that lets GuruWatcher post alerts into a channel you choose. You create it in your own server — this is your webhook, not an invite.

What it does / doesn’t do

GuruWatcher posts a short test message when you connect, then alert cards when a watched price level is hit. It does not read your Discord messages and does not post anywhere except the webhook URL you give it.

Create the webhook in Discord

  1. Open your server and go to the channel where you want alerts.
  2. Click the channel gear (Edit channel).
  3. Open IntegrationsWebhooksNew Webhook.
  4. Name it (optional) and click Copy Webhook URL.

Keep the URL to yourself. Anyone with it can post to that channel.

Paste it in the Control Panel

  1. Open the Control Panel — see the Open the Control Panel guide.
  2. Under Discord webhook, paste the URL.
  3. Click Save.
  4. Click Send test ping — you should see a short test message in that channel.

The panel only shows configured …abcd (the last 4 characters) — never the full URL. You can skip this step entirely and stay in Safe mode while learning; no Discord is needed to practice.

With a webhook saved, choose Live in Keep checking so alerts actually post. Or connect email auto-ingest first so you don’t paste every issue.
